Welcome to the Hambledon Cottage Museum.

Vale.

Dame Marie Bashir AD CVO former NSW Governor & Patron.

Parramatta & District Historical Society acknowledges the sad passing of the Honourable Dame Marie Bashir AD CVO, 37TH Governor of NSW.

She came to our Society’s 100th anniversary as a Historical Society and also visited Hambledon Cottage in 2004 and 2014 as Patron. She was a lovely lady and made an extraordinary contribution to public life.

On behalf of the Society, we convey our deepest sympathies to her family.

Here at Hambledon, we pride ourselves on an authentic, 19th Century experience. We create and cater to our visitors who wish to gain a grasp on the gracious and lavish lifestyle that John Macarthur's family and friends once lived.

We are open on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays  for guided tours from 11am with the last tour at 3pm and closed on the first Sunday of the month and public holidays including the Easter weekend.

We are closed for the Christmas Break from December 15th and re opening on January 30th, 2026.

We are not open on weekends when temperatures are very high.

Enjoy a Virtual Tour of  Hambledon Cottage Museum using the above menu. Visits by Groups (15 or more) can be made by appointment on all days.
